Mergansers

Loved the sky and sea in the late afternoon...

here's a closer look...so fascinating to watch on
a winter's day.

Morning

While Brody stretched out for

 

 

 

a nap this morning ( it amazes me how he stretches

out his back legs!)

 

 

 

the chickadee was surrounded

by the fluffiest snow.

It was so very beautiful!

Whenever Brody sees D

near the kitchen counter,

his eyes follow his every move and his ears

listen for a special sound...

the  crinkle of the bag of the Greenies treats...

he is ready and waiting!

A Special Visitor This Week

It snowed early this week and what a lovely surprise

to see Cedar Waxwings as they briefly stopped

to dine on the crabapples.

A Look Out the Window

Early morning, looking out the window

while snow lightly fell once again

and

the squirrels (little red and big gray)

took over the bird feeders.

Now the sun has appeared through clouds.

We think more snow is on the way for

tonight.

Still Snowing

As it snowed again this morning, more birds

flocked to the birdfeeders.

The snow changed to rain after several more inches....

The Birds in the Blizzard

A few of the birds who stopped by 

during the blizzard today were

 the  Carolina wren ...

the starling

the woodpecker

 

the cardinal
 

the chickadee

the sparrow

the bluejay

and some doves!

Saturday Morning of the Blizzard

Wow, we got more that 2 feet of snow, hard to tell from

the windows.

I looked out over the desolate wind blown yard to see little red

working his way over to the bird feeders.

Made it!

Hanging on!

Has company next door!

Where are the birds?

Blizzard

New England is in for a big blizzard this

weekend, a Nor' easter and it has already begun snowing

here. Woke up to about 4 inches overnight and there could be 2 feet

by the end of it.

We're in for a lot of shoveling!
