Day and Night

As I try to get over this miserable cold, I find that
Brody seems to be staying close to me day and night!

Now, I'm concerned that when I'm better,
he may still want me to be around 24/7!

I've been experiencing a bad cold the past few days
and Brody's companionship is very
comforting!

Sunday's Snow

I find there's nothing like softly falling snow
to slow one down, enjoy the peace and quiet
and to connect with nature.

Burning the Midnight Oil

Looks like another evening that
Ellie May and I will be burning the
midnight oil to finish up our holiday commissions!
It is so very peaceful working with Ellie May!

I just have to glance over at her and her
feeling of contentment is instilled in me!
She's very wise!

Bliss

Thursday evening, so very cold outside but
warm and cozy inside...Polly is in bliss having her
Dad by her side!

Sunflower Seeds in the Birdbath

We managed to save some of the sunflower seeds
from our sunflowers this fall and after filling the
bird feeder, D threw the leftovers in the birdbath.
Didn't take long for our feathered friends to discover
them. Ooooo, it is so cold and early this evening it
was 8 degrees and falling!

Bird Feeders Are Filled

It's so nice to have our birds back..
thanks to filling the bird feeders!
This little chickadee is waiting for a turn at
the feeder...once one discovered it,
the word spread and now our yard is alive
with birds and wildlife...

Where's Brody?

When I entered the house this afternoon,
I thought that Brody must be upstairs.
As glanced through the room, there were
no visible signs of him
in all of his usual napping spots, not on the
couch nor in any of his baskets. Well, I thought
it was safe to let Polly into the room and was
opening her screen door ( we have many screen
doors inside our house to keep our
kitties apart when we are not around to
supervise them) when I caught a glimpse
of orange movement below!

A Victorian Bulldog

It was about a week ago
that I had the pleasure to meet
this gentle Victorian Bulldog with
a special name.

Canada Geese

On this snowy stormy day, the Canada geese
were huddled together braving the elements.

Polly on a Snowy Day

Polly spent this snowy day curled up in her
basket beside the portrait of her beloved
Pumpkin.

Waiting to Run Upstairs

Today I captured Brody in a typical pose
when he is anticipating that I will go upstairs
with him...if I make a motion in his direction,
he will fly up the stairs trilling hoping that
I will be following...

Snuggled In

After a very hectic weekend, I was totally exhausted
and left my studio earlier tonight...as I walked downstairs
there came into view, Ellie May snuggled in for the
night on the wicker couch in D's fleecy vest.

Polly's Flower Hat

Doesn't it appear that Polly is wearing a
flower hat?
( there was a vase with some
flowers that have gone beyond their peek,
beside Polly's basket! )

Polly and the Grouse

I just finished a new painting of
a Ruffed Grouse that had visited our
yard one winter...seeing it felt so magical and
hope I was able to capture the feeling of that
experience in my art.
I have made it into a print and also
a card that will be coming with me this
weekend to the Holiday Fairs...
Oh, I have so much to do to get ready!
