The birds of summer through my art

I've been painting birds this summer and here are
some of them.
The endangered piping plovers and chicks are
so endearing to see in person from a distance.
Love the kingfisher and have been delighted
to see it rest on a branch over a marsh.
In our garden I caught sight of a mama finch
feeding her baby. The baby was bigger than her.

You can see those and lots more on my website.
Here's a link to the prints of birds section.
There's many categories and choices within those.

Thanks for looking!

First Painting of Josie

Josie has inspired me…here's my first ink & watercolor painting of her.
She has taken to hiding under a tiny table covered with a patchwork
  table cloth beside the bed.
It's like a tent and I placed  a pillow underneath  to make it comfy.

First Painting of the New Year

I have been so very captivated and
inspired by the
snowy owls we've had the
amazing opportunity to observe
this winter, truly a gift.
This is my first painting of them
and the first painting that I began
yesterday on my birthday.
I love them!

ps. it is also on my website

Their presence has made this
winter very special for us.

Thinking Spring

Though it still looks and feels very wintry outside
I'm thinking of spring while I draw and paint!

Painting the Indigo Bunting

On this cloudy afternoon I found myself
wishing to paint the Indigo Bunting.
This is a far as I have gotten but now
I must  pause  to think about how to continue
plus I need to make dinner!

What I've Been Working On

These are a few of the things I've been working on these days...
This sweet little chipmunk has been a very frequent visitor to
the sunflower bird feeder in the front yard.
Here she is on her way back to her abode with a stop over
on our front step where she froze when she saw me.
She happened to be standing beside a heart rock!

I love plovers and here are some that I saw last fall on the beach
and photographed.
I've been inspired to paint them and here they are in progress...

This spring the flowers have been so delightful...
some of the first to appear were the Puschkinias.

thanks!
