Painting on the Porch

Such a beautiful day, am painting
on the porch with my helper cat.
Inspired by the tide pool along the
rocky coast.

Hope you may be enjoying a
lovely summer day wherever you may be.

ps.

...as the early evening approaches,

I think we're about finished!

New Cards and Special Advisors

I'm in the process of making new blank note cards
with my art and was trying to photograph them
when one of my helpers appeared.
They seem to know just when to assist!

I have made 50 different cards and they are in
baskets in my studio/gallery but now I need to
figure out how to show them all!

I work very closely with my 3 advisors.

One of my assistants, Ellie May, watches over
my baskets of cards...she loves baskets!

Polly, another basket cat, is often portrayed in my art.

Here's the 'nature notes' of birds, animals,
flowers and butterflies.
(ps. the photos do get larger when you click on them)

To see cards of the scenes and shells, click here
to visit my other blog, Shells and Roses.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

By the way, if you may have any questions,
feel welcomed to e-mail me at

Yesterday and Today

Yesterday, Kita cat who lives in a neighbors' horse barn
came by to help D work in the garden.
She follows him around and takes naps in the shade
and loves attention!

Today was such a lovely day, low humidity and
sunshine.
Every time I walked by Ellie May on the porch
she looked so very comfy.

It was a dreamy sort of day...
Brody has taken to spending time in one of
Polly's window baskets when she is in another
room.

Brody and the Pants

Brody loves to sit on pants, any kind will do.
We always leave a pair of D's pants on our
bed for Brody but these happened to be downstairs.

Drawing on a Rainy Afternoon

Another rainy afternoon with thunder and lightning,
so I decided to take my work from the studio
into the house and draw on the couch with Polly.
Starting a rough sketch for a house portrait commission.
It's hard not to fall asleep!

Where's Brody Again?

On Sunday afternoon, Brody was there one
minute and the next he had vanished.
He's very clever about slipping under fabric
and clothing!

Happy 4th of July! more added

Saturday morning at the craft fair I met
these lovely dogs!

Meeting Ripple was a real surprise!
Last summer I saw a couple riding bikes
and a dog riding in the knapsack of one of the bicycles.
I jumped out of the car and tried to be discreet
for I wanted to photograph them.
I created a painting of it and made prints.

I had no idea who they were.
Well, they all appeared in my booth at the fair!

Puddin' and Moose stopped by.
Here's Puddin' when I had painted
her with her beloved Penny.

I had the pleasure of meeting this
new addition to a family I know
and her name is Cosette.

I had painted another dog, Monique, for this
family in 2001.

The weather was ok til the afternoon.
Stop by here to see more of the craft fair...
Will write more soon... still undwinding!

Ellie May Across the Way

Looking over towards the studio from
the upstairs window in our house, I saw
Ellie May in her window.

I waved and she acknowledged me
from a distance!
I think she may have also seen
Brody who was looking out at the
time!
This was the beginning of a
completely rainy day!

Celeste Rose

D brought us a Celeste rose from the garden
with a heavenly scent. We floated it in the
perfect cup!
