An Adoring Look

Polly just loves to sit beside her Dad when he's
using the laptop. She gazes up at him with such
an adoring expression that he can feel it even
if he is engrossed in the computer and he has
to acknowledge her presence with some special
rubs or with her brush which she loves so much.

Who's On The Roof?

Brody and I heard something scurrying
around on the roof early this morning.
Brody came to investigate but couldn't
see anything except his reflection in the
window.

Sharing Food

Today we had another snow storm
and I was glued to the window with
my camera. Lucky to have a birds eye
view of the birdfeeder, I took many
photos as the snow and birds flew by the window.
Quite a bit of seed had fallen
into the snow and this unlikely pair
appeared to be sharing a meal.

This critter could be the reason so many seeds
made it to the ground.

Home Again with My Kitties

Last night I returned home from a month long visit

in Connecticut to be with my parents. I was excited
to give Brody a gift from my sister, C.
It's a cat tent and he dove right into it, and twirled,
chased, and tried to eat the whiskers on the outside
of the tent!

This morning, Polly basked in the sun...

and Ellie May settled into her basket
as I tried to sort out my studio.

It's so good to be home to enjoy the
special and deep bond I have with my kitties.

Art in Progress

One way I cope with missing my cats
when I'm away from home is to draw
and paint them. They are in my
heart and come through my art!

Here and There

Had a chance to visit with Tiger
again while in Connecticut.

sneaking a nap in Polly's room.

Dreaming

D sent me this photo of Polly day dreaming
on January 20th, Inauguration Day.
Perhaps her green eyes are a reminder for us to
continue to be green!

Sparrow Inspiration

Today I was inspired to paint one of
the fluffy round sparrows dwelling
in the birdhouse under the overhang
of my parents' house.
I find roundish birds irresistible!
( as do Ellie May =^..^=, Brody =^..^=
and Polly =^..^=!)

Deep Freeze

The cold air is moving in!

This sparrow is all fluffed up trying to keep warm...

The squirrel was busy looking through the snow
for possible food, looks like he or she was about
to say something!

It's supposed to get much colder over the next 3 days.
In Maine tonight it is 3 degrees.
Here in Connecticut at my parent's home, it's about
15 degrees.
What's it like where you are?

Remembering

My sister, C has loved animals since she
was a young child. As an adult, she's had
the
pleasure to have had 3 darling dogs in her life
that will always have a special place in her heart.

Kelly

Cheyenne and Bruno

I am thankful that I have been able to preserve
their memory with my ink and watercolors.

...and now Tiger is the heart of their home
and she is such a love!

Another Satisfied Customer, Update

Update to this post! It's January 6th and
I just heard from Phoebe's Mom who was excited
for she, her husband and their talented and famous cats,
Phoebe and Sidney have won a
national contest for Bertolli Frozen Foods.
They have made a video.
you can either

or go to:
www.bertollinightsin.com
to see Jeffrey Jackson's video, "Sidney and Phoebe"
for a "Romantic Night In".

Today I was delighted to receive a photo of Phoebe,
a beautiful and very sweet cat that I had been
commissioned to paint for a Christmas gift.
Phoebe seems to be admiring the portrait
of herself as her Mom opened the gift
Christmas morning.

In 2007, I had painted another member of Phoebe's
family, Sidney, a ginger cat in a box, who was a
surprise Christmas gift for their Dad.

Here's a closer look at Phoebe's portrait.

Sunday Night Dinner

Every Sunday night, one of my
sisters makes a Sunday dinner
for family. The cozy, warm home is
filled with people and pets. Living so
far away in Maine, this was a special
treat for me to be able to enjoy the
family gathering and my sister's delicious
dinner. She's a wonderful cook!
Tiffany the cat, made a brief
appearance just before her 3 cousin dogs
arrived. After she sat on my lap and
rubbed her face against my hands,
she quietly disappeared up the
stairs to her own abode.

Tiffany, the cat and Sugar, the lab
are the residents.
