Polly found a sunny spot on the rug and totally
relaxed as the sound of hammers continued
up on the roof!

Polly is taking it all in stride, sounds of hammering,
having ladders go by the window
and then to be covered in blue!

...defective roof shingles are causing us to have
the roof repaired.

Brody Discovers the Rose

It's mid-November and how nice it is to have
a rose from our garden
sitting in a little vase upon our counter...

Another Chipmunk Sighting

This morning as I was walking to
the studio I saw a sudden movement
nearby....

A Carpenter's Helper

D has been doing repairs on the house
before the snow flies... when he went inside
for a quick lunch, this little fellow appeared
on top of the saw horse. He seemed to be contemplating
whether or not to lend a helping hand in D's absence.

While I spent the afternoon helping with
yard work, this beautiful fluffy bird was
camouflaged in the dried flowers finding
precious seeds.

Pet Portraits

Today I will be working on the backgrounds
of some pet portraits that are commissions
for the holidays.
Looks nice enough outside to be able to work
on the porch.

Polly's Mouse

On this very warm Sunday in November,
Polly's taking it easy with her special mouse!

She has a strong bond with this mouse...moves
it around at night when no one is watching
and talks to it in a very strange voice!

Ellie May Inspects the Horse Portrait

This evening I was putting the finishing
touches on a horse portrait that will be
picked up tomorrow...nothing leaves my
studio without the careful inspection by
my assistant, Ellie May.

Almost Hidden

I work on my art wherever I may be and this afternoon
I was sitting on the couch drawing a horse for a commission
when Brody crawled behind the sofa cushion, twirled around
in a tiny space and ended up here at the end of the couch.
Looked like he was waiting in hiding for Miss Polly to appear
but sleepiness took over.

The Adorable Chipmunk and the Cherry

Happened to notice one of our resident chipmunks
enjoying a cherry on this cool November day.
I think this is a youngster chippy!
