How thrilled we were to see the mockingbird
by the ocean today.
It's been years since we have seen it in this spot
during the winter.
Years ago when D and I took walks in the winter
we had noticed a mockingbird who seemed to survive
on a variety of winter berries growing along the coast.
I made a collection of drawings of the mockingbird
and the berries and put it together for a book
that has never been published.
I think this might be a sign for me to do
something with it now!
