Oh Deer!

Thursday afternoon, while in Connecticut,
I stepped outside the porch door to focus my
camera on the big maple tree, alive with sparrows.
Some were being fed by a parent.
I was totally absorbed watching them.
Some small sound broke the spell and I looked
away from the tree and standing across the street
was this beautiful deer.

The deer paused for several moments before
disappearing through a neighbors' trellis.

Poor neighbors, I'll bet they got some of their garden plants pruned. I had to shoo a baby sparrow out of the driveway this morning. It must have left the nest before it was quite ready to fly.

what a lovely surprise it must have been for you to see the deer! She must've been on her way to have a nice breakfast of roses and other tender garden plants!

We get deer at our beach place. Only I either don't have the camera in hand or I take a very blurry photo ...

I never get tired of seeing deer pics. Had a doe in my yard this morning. She was watching my cats and enjoying the wildflowers in my butterfly garden. I really don't mind, since the deer won't touch the butterfly bushes.
