Look What the Gull Fished Out of the River

Early this evening found us sitting on a bench
where the river meets the sea...so serene.

Noticed a gull dive into the river and I assumed
that what it caught was a fish.
As the gull flew to the rocky shore
with it's catch I got a better look and
discovered it was an apple! I never knew
gulls dined on apples and this one really seemed
to enjoy it!

The Cormorant

This beautiful cormorant was
sitting on a log in the middle
of the cove this afternoon and
caught my eye.

Great Cat Naps

On Monday, everyone seemed to be napping
at the same time.

Polly loves her cube!

Marge and Tiger

We were in Connecticut over the weekend to
attend the wedding of our nephew. Their dog,
Marge, was the ringbearer! She had a wonderful time
as did all of the guests. It was a special magical wedding.
Congratulations J & S.

Later in the evening, we had a chance to stop by
the home of Tiger, my cat niece. We hadn't
seen her in quite a long time... she is as sweet as ever!

I just love the many expressions that
roll over Brody's face. Here are just a few

Roses

A lovely bouquet of roses arrived at my door
today sent by good friends...they bring comfort
and beauty at this time of great loss....

Brody spent much of Sunday of Labor Day weekend
on the couch!

Night Heron

Autumn is in the air as the sun sets tonight
when the young night herons fly over to the
boats along the river to fish...

Early Morning in the Garden

Returned home last night and went out into
the garden early this morning...
as I was looking up through my camera lens
into the face of a tall sunflower, I felt the presence
of something...upon looking down, there was
Kita, the neighbor's cat, brushing up against me.

I returned to study the sunflower and just
as I took a photo a magical thing happened,
a hummingbird appeared in the picture frame.

I watched as it moved on to the honeysuckle....
it's wonderful to be able to
spend quiet moments in the garden.
