A Snowy Squirrel

Early this morning in Connecticut,
not much was moving...and then
a squirrel scurried across the snow
and up into the maple tree.

We quietly observed each other!

Sweet Tiger!

Am in Connecticut and was happy to see my
niece cat, Tiger! Am missing my kitties back home
and Tiger is such a sweetie!

Big Feet!

My husband has a size 12 shoe size and
here is his foot beside the tracks of
wild turkeys that were in his Dad's
backyard on Saturday!

A Surprise in the Sky

We were riding home this afternoon
when D spotted a flock of Canada Geese
flying over the road from the cove.
I missed seeing them but as I glanced
out of my window, I saw a large dark winged
bird gliding by... not realizing just what it was.
D looked over and exclaimed,
"That's an eagle!"
He quickly pulled over and I hurried out of the
car and somehow managed to get several photos
and here is one...

It was very exciting!

We Love Birds

Ellie May and I both love birds,
we enjoy watching them and I love to capture
their beauty with my ink and watercolors.

Time to go out on the porch to have a look.

Sorting

It's the time of year to sort through piles of
receipts, a very time consuming process.
It's nice having company for this tedious task!

An Unlikely Couple

This unlikely couple seemed to be fishing together
yesterday afternoon as the snow gently fell...

Who's Been Sleeping in My Basket?

Brody hijacked Polly's counter basket this morning.
He was invisible to D when he came out of the other
room wondering where Brody was...and suddenly D
noticed Brody in a place he never goes!
Brody had the perfect setup to ambush the unsuspecting
Polly if she had wandered into the kitchen.

Early Morning

My helper in the studio, Ellie May, was ready
to work early this morning. Come on over to

Sea Ducks

I love to watch the winter seabirds and am always
on the lookout when we visit the beach.

Earlier this week I was thrilled to see these
beautiful Grebes.

This afternoon we saw these Buffleheads!
They are adorable!
( first time I have ever seen them)

What a Valentine!

I love to collect little heart shaped rocks whenever
I take walks on the beach...I feel a magical connection
whenever I find one camouflaged among all the other
rocks.
Well, this morning my hubby presented me with
one he found the other day while he was raking
seaweed at the beach.
WOW!
I was thrilled!


Sometimes the most unlikely things can fill
one's heart with joy!

Night Light

Ellie May's little face appeared in the studio window
as the the evening sky became darker and the warmth
of the light inside became brighter.

Last night, Polly looked so peaceful
by the soft light just before bedtime.

What a Helper!

Brody loves to be as close as possible when I happen
to be using the computer in the house.
I love having him near but it did make it difficult
to move the trackball mouse while his head was on it!

Two Red Squirrels

Now that the sunflower seeds have
been discovered, we have two red
squirrels visiting!


I think they will be here daily from now on!

I fell in love with their cuteness!

The Red Squirrel and the Chickadee

This is the first day I have seen the red squirrel
up close at our bird feeders. This little squirrel
is so fast and luckily he or she didn't see me
hiding behind my camera in the window.

What a treat to see the chickadee pausing
or posing with the red squirrel long just
enough for me to take a photo!

Mallards

These mallards flew into Cape Porpoise harbor
to join the others...
