The Squirrel This Morning

This morning as I glanced out to see the who was visiting
the bird feeders I spotted this squirrel way up in the tree.
I couldn't figure out what he was eating.
Could it be bark from the tree?
What could it be?

Whatever it was, he seemed happy with it.

Looking Out For the Winter Wildlife

Josie is fascinated and excited
by what she observes outside her windows this winter.

I feel the same way….

We try to make sure the food for the critters doesn't sink
beneath the snow and squash seeds are a special treat.

Collecting

Look who I spotted collecting acorns as I took a walk
around the block this afternoon.
Another mild day in Connecticut.

A Snowy Squirrel

Early this morning in Connecticut,
not much was moving...and then
a squirrel scurried across the snow
and up into the maple tree.

We quietly observed each other!

Contemplation and Camouflage

Yesterday was a day of contemplation...
the quiet and peacefulness of the snow crept inside.

While outside, I happened to startle the gray squirrel
who was filling up at the bird feeder...he leapt to the
nearby crabapple tree and seemed to disappear...
can you see him?

well,
here's a close up!

Sunday's Snow

I find there's nothing like softly falling snow
to slow one down, enjoy the peace and quiet
and to connect with nature.

Sharing Food

Today we had another snow storm
and I was glued to the window with
my camera. Lucky to have a birds eye
view of the birdfeeder, I took many
photos as the snow and birds flew by the window.
Quite a bit of seed had fallen
into the snow and this unlikely pair
appeared to be sharing a meal.

This critter could be the reason so many seeds
made it to the ground.
