Who Is Visiting

We had company on Monday...
some wonderful friends visited
and


we met their sweet and adorable Westie
named Winnie for the first time.



Well, we were a bit worried about
how Brody would react to meeting
Winnie so we left him
behind a screen door
so that we could introduce them
with a safety net between them.
He appeared very skeptical from
a distance.



When Brody puffed up like a big balloon
we decided that we had best not let Brody and
Winnie mingle in the same room.

We didn't know what
Brody would do for he probably weighs as much as Winnie
and though Brody is so gentle and sweet with us
we didn't want anything to trigger his aggressive side!

It was such a beautiful warm day...
we all enjoyed a walk on the beach in the afternoon.

So happy to reconnect with old friends
and I fell in love with Winnie!

Couldn't help but smile when I saw
these dogs on the beach...
they seemed to be smiling!

Summer Solstice Surfers

Happy Summer Solstice!
Today brought more rain, clouds and drizzle
and also great surf over at the beach in Kennebunk.
The eiders formed a large group to ride out
the waves.

Another kind of surfer took advantage of the large
waves over here...

Eiders and Sea Roses

A dramatic sky led us to the beach
early yesterday evening...

After a brief rain with lightning,
the sky lightened a bit and further
down the beach, and to my delight,
I spotted them;
the eiders teaching their young.

As we rounded the corner, there
were more babies, the young gulls
were lined up by the edge of the sea.
