Blizzard

So very cold today as the temperatures
hovered in the lower single numbers and
the wind swirled the fine snow.
Much activity at the bird feeders.

Down at the beach was quiet.
Sea smoke rose from the ocean which is
a rare sight.

A group of small gulls had gathered on the
beach and some were asleep. They must
have helped each other conserve energy by
being close together.

Still Snowing

As it snowed again this morning, more birds
flocked to the birdfeeders.

The snow changed to rain after several more inches....

Choices

Yesterday I noticed this woodpecker
was positioned in a very good spot for
the suet of his choice!

I love watching the birds!

Another Snowy Day

Ellie May and I spent the day inside working
on art, watching the snow gently fall and keeping
an eye on the birds visiting the yard in search of food...
we have sunflower seeds, suet and apples to offer.
