Chip and the Baby Dove

Yesterday when I looked up into the trellis that
housed the nest of the baby doves, it was empty.
I didn't see them leave and wondered where they
were and hoped they were safe.

While scanning the yard and gardens hoping for a
sign of them, I saw a little figure in the distance
on the lounge chair.

It turned out to be chippy!

Still looking....one of the doves came
into my vision....

I did see the other one a bit later and when I
checked later in the afternoon, they were gone.

Hoping for the best!

Ellie May and the Baby Doves

Was a lovely day for Ellie May to spend the
afternoon on her porch at the studio...
Just opposite her in a nest at the top of the
arbor on the side of our house were 2 adorable
baby doves.
All day long I kept peeking in on them.

I've been worried about them for it is already
October and I am hoping the weather will
continue to be nice enough to give them the
time they need to grow and fly!

Brody has taken to either sitting on or leaning
into everything that I may set down on the couch
that belongs to me!

At the top of the stairs, Ellie May is deciding
about whether or not to venture down and
spend some time on her porch...
it was lovely out yesterday.

In the late afternoon, reflected golden light shines
in the studio windows as Ellie May gazes out...

while her friend, Chippy takes a break from scurrying
around!

Work and Naps

Been working on my commissions with my
supervisor, Ellie May.

Somehow when I see this, I too am tempted
to take a cap nap!

Reunited

After being away, it sure is wonderful to be
reunited with my furry family!

Solace

I've been away...
this Great Blue Heron

added solace to the day.

Juggling

My brother was visiting yesterday...
he's wonderful at juggling!
He taught me years ago,
I practiced and practiced
and it took quite some time until
it magically worked!
Now he is teaching his daughters
and they were practicing at my house...
they are right on the verge
of getting the knack of juggling!

Now it looks as if Brody has the 3 mice
lined up for his juggling lesson!

A New Home

The baby Mourning Doves left the safety of their nest
in the arbor on Wednesday...
I saw them on the brick pathway to the the studio
with their Mother and by the edge of the garden,
up in a tree... and by afternoon they were out of sight.
