Early in the evening, I heard a loudhumming sound very close by, and suddenly
there were two hummingbirds chasing each
other and they really do hum and were
incredibly fast. Then there was silence,
way up in the tree the hummingbird rested.

What a purr-fect shot!
Hummers are simply the best when they arrive in the garden..always surprise me..I hear a little humming engine sound above my head..and they are off again as fast as they arrived!
I had one at the farm this weekend. The silly thing was buzzing around the red alarm sign on my door;) I put out the feeder because not much is blooming for them yet.

I love hummingbirds. I would love to have a hummingbird feeder, but they attract too many bees, and I'm allergic.
