Early Morning in the Garden

Returned home last night and went out into
the garden early this morning...
as I was looking up through my camera lens
into the face of a tall sunflower, I felt the presence
of something...upon looking down, there was
Kita, the neighbor's cat, brushing up against me.

I returned to study the sunflower and just
as I took a photo a magical thing happened,
a hummingbird appeared in the picture frame.

I watched as it moved on to the honeysuckle....
it's wonderful to be able to
spend quiet moments in the garden.

What a serendipitous moment! It really must have seemed magical, Nan. How lovely to pause and appreciate these quiet pauses in the day.

Welcome back, Nan. The picture of Kita is so cute...she's got her tail up in that "hello, dear friend" position. What serendipity with the hummingbird in your sunflower picture. (I bet your sunflowers will be covered with chickadees and goldfinches soon.) The picture of the hummingbird sipping the honeysuckle is very nice, too.
