Chickadee

"Chickadee"
ink & watercolor © Nancy Cooper Funk

This year I have been so inspired to paint
the many birds I have seen in our garden
and wherever I wander.
This little chickadee was one of the frequent
visitors at our bird feeders.

(I am in the process of working on a series
of paintings of birds.)

If you'd like to see more, just click prints of birds.
Thanks!

Ooooh, how gorgeous, and I think the name 'chickadee' is soooo cute. It's so much better than many bird names, although another favourite of mine is the 'British Twite' which always makes me laugh!!!

Hi Kim,
The chickadee is an adorable little bird whose song sounds like it's name,
chick-a-dee-dee-dee!
(It's also the Maine State bird.)
I just love the birds and am so thrilled when I see them and am able to capture them with my camera to paint later on. We even had a grouse spend part of the winter in our yard, which was very unusual.
