Summer Solstice Surfers

Happy Summer Solstice!
Today brought more rain, clouds and drizzle
and also great surf over at the beach in Kennebunk.
The eiders formed a large group to ride out
the waves.

Another kind of surfer took advantage of the large
waves over here...

These photos are beautiful, but chilly looking!
Love the various types of surfers here and on Shells and Roses!

That looks a bit wild for us landlocked critters!

Judy H and Shaggy, Scooby and Scout,
Thanks for visiting! For the 1st day of summer, it looked more like a cooler season... people walking on the beach had warm jackets on with hats or hoods up!

I'll leave the surfing to the ducks. They do it much better than I ever could. I hope one of these days, we can post that the sun came out, and stayed out for a full day. I feel soggy.

They are fearless in the face of those huge waves.

Enjoy that cool weather while you can. Temps in the 90's here are probably headed your way.

Purple Flowers,
Thanks for writing and we still are in the cloudy rainy pattern here but I must say when it isn't actually raining, the clouds and ocean look beautiful!

Marnie,
We were thinking the same thing as you as we watched those little eiders with their Moms in the wild surf, that's their life but it looks so dangerous especially when they are near the rocks! Once in a while one little one would stray from the group...
Oh no, I don't like the sound of temps in the 90's! I much prefer the cooler weather!
