Tonight Polly was sitting beside me on the couch when she caught sight of Brody watching her from the stairs. She immediately jumped up and scurried over to one of her baskets where she feels safe from that big orange cat!
quiltcat and Marnie, Brody is such a loveable cat to me but for some reason, ever since he moved in about 4 years ago he has had a fascination with Polly and wants to stalk and chase her if she moves. I think since he was much younger than Polly when he arrived, he just wanted to play and she misinterpreted it and then it became something else. She is afraid of him and runs for safety if he happens to be in the same room and looks menacing. We keep them separated by screen doors inside the house when we are out and they are together when we can supervise! It can become confusing sometimes! Nan
Hi Whicky, Aren't baskets wonderful!Polly does feel safe when she's in any of her baskets...they are high above Brody so she has a good lookout and is enclosed. Brody seems to respect her when she is settled in a basket. Nan
I'm an artist/illustrator specializing in ink and watercolors and photography. My little studio in Maine is nestled in our garden by a babbling brook. Everyday I draw inspiration from the pets who have touched my life, our garden, birds and wildlife critters, quaint old houses, children, shells, scenes of the seaside and more.
Hope to share my art and observations with you and don't forget to take a moment to notice the precious little things around you.

That bad Brody! Well Polly looks snug and secure in her basket and not really all that concerned!
Awww, Brody must be a bully.

A basket is a fort to a cat. Polly looks nice and safe there and ready to repell any intruders!
