It was an exceptionally warm morning
and after a walk on the beach and a stroll
through our garden, I settled down on the
porch to paint birds with Ellie May.

How nice of Ellie Mae to help you paint those lovely little birds!
This could be such a sweet story: 'The Artist's Apprentice' or some such thing. The fact that you are painting birds makes it all the more enchanting.
By the way, Nan, here are some self publishing sites I've heard of- blurb.com, lulu.com, createspace.com.
I've thought of doing this myself, but I'm hoping to purchase a book by you one of these days!
Nan, looks like a scene from my farm. I have English sparrows in one of my nest boxes this year.
Marnie
quiltcat,
I was working on the porch and Ellie May was on a couch at the other end but as soon as I sat down to work, she worked her way over to my lap. I was gently trying to have her sit right beside me but she prefers being up close!
Judy H,
Thanks so much for the encouragement for a story and the sites you've found. For many years I have thought the only way I could publish my own little stories and art is to self publish but didn't know how to go about it. I'll have to look into this more!
Marnie,
Isn't that something, those are the sparrows who were gathering feathers, straw and even plastic to line the nest boxes at my parent's house. I was so engrossed in watching them everyday that I was there.
Loved the walk through your garden and then to come on in and see this beautiful watercolour. you have such a wonderful touch with your work,so delicate.
Hi ruthie, I appreciate your comments about my art so very much! I am so amazed to see so many things blooming everyday and will give another tour of the garden soon.Every time I step outside, I am nearly overwhelmed!
Your birds are beautiful!
Carol, thanks for stopping by and leaving some comments!
