That 'look'. I think he knows you're teasing him. My cats eat those toy mice;) I had to stop giving them mice because I was afraid of what the sawdust and plastic eyes might do to their stomachs. Marnie
It's funny with Brody, he doesn't seem to notice if something is sitting on him! Could be a toy mouse or a ribbon, anything...he's very relaxed! (D actually had placed Polly's baby mouse on Brody's back) It sat there for quite some time until he decided to get up!
Your cats are so pretty Nan, I have to say I am more of a dog person but that is partly because a neighbour's cat keeps killing my beloved garden birds!! However I did have a cat some years ago and my brother has three which we look after when he is on holiday and they are all lovely and very affectionate.
ShySongbird...Glad you stopped by... I do love all animals but happen to live with cats! We have many beloved dog nephews and nieces.I am thankful my cats are indoor for I love the birds and chipmunks etc. and it is a constant worry having outdoor cats and keeping them away from wildlife. I definitely understand your concern about your neighbor's cat and it's really difficult teach cats to stay in their own yard. Years ago, when we had an outdoor cat, our neighbor's cat would come over an terrorize our cat. My husband tried growling and making a hissing sound like a big mean cat whenever he saw the neighbor cat, who upon hearing that would turn and run away. It was quite effective, maybe it could work for you! I know it is their instinct and when one looks at all of nature there are many things that seem sad. I find everything so special I to want them all to be safe!
I'm an artist/illustrator specializing in ink and watercolors and photography. My little studio in Maine is nestled in our garden by a babbling brook. Everyday I draw inspiration from the pets who have touched my life, our garden, birds and wildlife critters, quaint old houses, children, shells, scenes of the seaside and more.
Hope to share my art and observations with you and don't forget to take a moment to notice the precious little things around you.

I think your Brody is the direct opposite of my Kristy, Nan! What a beautiful, calm kitty! I love the innocent expression on his face!
Hi Judy H, Brody is one relaxed guy!
He is quite comical, too!
ha, ha, ha, so funny and the look on Brody's face.
