A flicker and rustling sound in the berry bush beside the driveway stopped me in mid-step. I paused and stood very still until this lovely young cardinal came into view.
acornmoon, thank you so much for visiting and I very much appreciate your comment!
Purple Flowers, we usually see many cardinals in the winter and this summer there was a cardinal couple who had a nest near our back porch. I think this may be one of their sons!
I'm an artist/illustrator specializing in ink and watercolors and photography. My little studio in Maine is nestled in our garden by a babbling brook. Everyday I draw inspiration from the pets who have touched my life, our garden, birds and wildlife critters, quaint old houses, children, shells, scenes of the seaside and more.
Hope to share my art and observations with you and don't forget to take a moment to notice the precious little things around you.

Nice ...
Nice photo! he looks a little grumpy, perhaps upset that his parents aren't feeding him anymore.
Wonderful shot.
What a lovely blog you have with such beautiful images. This little bird looks like he is posing for a Christmas card!
