Last time I was in VT, I saw a giant chipmunk scurrying through one of the flower gardens, with his cheeks bulging with munchies. Do you suppose they know something about the upcoming winter that we don't? Your chippy on the fence is too funny.
Karen LR, Gee, I think they might just know something...many of our chipmunks have been stocking up for quite some time now! They make me smile with their bulging cheeks!
such a cute little critter she is! There used to be chipmunks here but haven't seen one in quite a few years. However, there are quite a few young squirrels scurrying around here.
Shy Songbird, quiltcat and Judy Hartman, There sure is something so cute about chipmunks. I am aware some people find them to be trouble in the garden but nevertheless, I love them!
I'm an artist/illustrator specializing in ink and watercolors and photography. My little studio in Maine is nestled in our garden by a babbling brook. Everyday I draw inspiration from the pets who have touched my life, our garden, birds and wildlife critters, quaint old houses, children, shells, scenes of the seaside and more.
Hope to share my art and observations with you and don't forget to take a moment to notice the precious little things around you.

I think Chipmunks are such pretty little things and of course we don't have them here, I suppose the nearest we have is a Squirrel.
