Posing with Portraits

I've been inspired to work on the portraits of
Brody and Polly that I started when I was in
Connecticut in January.
They kindly posed with their portraits this
morning.

(I'm also working on finishing up some
commissions of dogs and a cat that are
in various stages.)

I love drawing and painting
so many things, and since I've been
home I'm so overwhelmed with all that is around
me. Besides my cats, the birds and squirrels, the snow
and sea are so inspiring.
My camera has enabled me to capture the moments
and now it's time to become absorbed in the
drawing and painting of them.
Winter is a good time for reflection.

That is so cute to have them pose with their own portraits. And shows how you've really caught the essence of each one...Brody confronting the viewer in both photo and portrait, Polly snoozing in both! (she looks like she could get a job imitating Chessie) It's lovely that there's so much to inspire the artist in you! (by the way, that looks like a handquilted quilt that Brody is on?)

Hi quiltcat,
thanks for your lovely comments... I wish Brody was on a handquilted quilt, but it's a pillow sham that decorates the top of a chair!

You have gorgeous models to work with. You inspire me to do a little drawing. It's been years. Maybe I'll pick up some paper and give it a try this weekend.

Winter is a great time for reflection, as you said. And both cats in these pictures look like they are doing some serious reflecting!!
