Polly's Birthday

On this day in 1994, the youngster cat,
Ellie May, who lived near our gallery
gave birth to 4 adorable kittens.
Polly was the tiny brown tabby and
we fell in love with her. In June, when
she was 8 weeks old, she came to live
with us.

(five years later, Ellie May moved into our
gallery becoming our shop cat and now
she has her own studio cottage in our garden)

ps.

D just sent me this of Polly today.
She really doesn't like the hat and
it stayed on just long enough for him
to take a quick photo!

Happy birthday, Polly, and best wishes for many more! lovely to see these baby pictures of her! It must be nice to know her actual birthday and also to have her real mother living with you too...the birthdays of all of my kitties are mere guesses...not even positive of the year for Fuzzy!

hi quiltcat,
I was thinking the same thing about Polly's birthday...one rarely knows the date of a pet's birthday especially a shelter pet or one that wanders into your yard and stays. Ellie had stopped by our shop the day before she gave birth, she looked like she had a beachball inside. The kittens were born in a closet and it was so special to be able to see them. The people Ellie May lived with were very kind to let us stop in to see the kitties whenever we wanted and were there alot! It was pet therapy for us for we had lost our first cat, Liy, that January. It was so great to look forward to having Polly come live with us when she was old enough. We just make up birthdays for our other cats.

Awwww, what wonderful cats. I don't know the birth dates of any of my cats as they all came to me as gifts from the angels one way or another. Hope Polly enjoyed her big day.

thanks oldcrow61,
My husband told me that Polly got extra wet food which she totally adores on her birthday plus she spent more time on a pillow on his lap while he used his laptop... another of her favorite things to do!

Thanks Judy, it's hard to believe Polly was that tiny! She could fit in the palm of your hand!

I'm glad i peeked back in here to see the picture of her with the birthday hat on...Polly does look fairly annoyed! Glad that D gave her special lap time and special food...those are very nice gifts!

quiltcat and Marnie,
you're right, she doesn't look to happy about that hat ( I made it for her for her 1st birthday!) Marnie, she does have that look like she's wearing a very heavy hat!
