Just Before Leaving

Am visiting my parents in Connecticut and
after packing and what seemed like
a million last minute things
to do before leaving
yesterday, just one more look at the
kitties...
and I miss them already.

Polly was so content after filling up on her favorite food.

Brody loves to sit on D's pants so we left some
on the stairs by the window with a view.

Made sure they all have plenty of food and water
and Ellie May has so much to choose from..
.
D just dropped me off so he'll be holding down
the fort with them!

Bye, Nan. Have a safe trip and a good visit with the parental units. I know i miss my kitties terribly when i'm away from them. At least yours have D to look after them in your absence.

quiltcat,
thanks! I'm in Conn. now with my old laptop so I can still be connected to blogland!
Brrr, it's very bitter cold here so I can imagine back home must be worse!
Are you in a cold spell, too?

Hi Nan,
Isn't it awful leaving your kitties? When we were in Italy, I was in tears quite often, as all the wonderfulness of Italy could not take away the terrible lonliness I felt without the three of them. It was really awful.
But do have a lovely visit to your parents and try not to worry,
Best Wishes,
Liz

Hi Nan. I'm glad you're still connected to blogland! Yes, we're having a cold spell down here, too. It was 26 degrees yesterday (Thursay) a.m....about 20 degrees colder than normal for us at this time of year! This morning i got up a bit later, 'cause i'm telecommuting, and it's already "up" to 36. My neighbor was putting the plow on his truck last night! (maybe just being prepared in general, not in particular)

buskitten aka liz, thanks for writing...I really miss my kitties... I think I work better with them around but also probably take more catnaps! D has stayed on for a few days to help my parents, too, he's been insulating a little porch and doing other jobs that need to be attended. He might go back later today or tomorrow. It's a long time for the furry ones to be on their own, though a friend is stopping by to check on them.
Keep in touch and congratulations on all of the accomplishments you've been having!

Hi Quiltcat,
Thanks for checking in again! I'm having a hard time focusing on my work here. Been distracted and have tried to reorganize the walls at my parents house..rearranging everything to make it simpler and aesthetic. Once I started I couldn't stop! Next will be working on the basement with my Dad. Hope you keep in touch, too! Oh, I tried to leave a comment on your blog about the singer and I tried 3 times but the word verification didn't show any letters for me to verify...a mystery! Will try again on your latest post! Take care...Nan

Hiya Nan,
No, had no trouble posting a comment - maybe try refreshing, or going in and out again, as it were haha! I have trouble signing in to google sometimes, so I go to another site and come back later!
I am soooo bad at computers, Mr Site is brill, as it's easy-ish and only 20 english pounds.
Your websites are amazing, you must be good at technology to get them looking so professional.
Can you do Photoshop, Nan? I would love to learn that.
Anyway, hope you're having a lovely time with your parents,
Liz

Hi Nan. Do your parents have any cats to visit with? I know exactly what Liz meant about being someplace wonderful yet missing her cats so badly, because i feel that way, too. As a result, i am always on the lookout for cats on my travels, at least to take pictures of them, at best to offer a cuddle.

buskitten,
thanks for trying to help me figure out why I couldn't post, D finally figured it out this morning...whew, I never would have been able to make it work.
D actually had made our website mainememories.com a long time ago and then he eventually taught me how to edit and add to it...and I love working on it. I became brave and made my other website by myself. I'm using an old program and am sort of limited in what I can do or know how to do. I feel it's a miracle I can do it at all! I know how to do a little bit of photoshop.
I think your site looks great!

quiltcat,
My parents don't have any pets...I too am on the lookout for cats when away from home but the most I have seen are very plump squirrels. Haven't been over to my sister's house yet, she has a calico cat named Tiger. She's terrific pet therapy for me when I'm away so I need to see her soon!
It's so cold and windy today, nice to be inside!
