This robin seemed overwhelmed in the
midst of all of these apples in our yard.
We had saved them through the winter
and though they don't look edible for us,
hopefully they will provide sustenance
for some birds during this cold
spell in March in Maine.

You reminded me I forgot to cut up an apple and put it out. The last one disappeared quickly;) Gotta do that tonight.

The robins seem to really like the apples. Hope it warms up for them soon but it doesn't look that way here.

Reminds me of early summer when the apples fall off my tree and ferment a bit...the robins in particular seem to enjoy eating the fermented fruit and then seem somewhat drunk!

hmmm, I think they could get intoxicated from it. D loves to tell a Kurt Vonnegut story about geese and fermented fruit...and that's just what happened.
