D was going through some photos last night and came across this favorite one of our beloved cat, Pumpkin aka Bob. He is very much missed. He had a habit of climbing onto D's back.
What a cutie! it looks like he was using D as a stepstool so he could see out the transom. Was he a relative of Polly or Brody? He's got the same massive shape as them.
What a beautiful cat Pumpkin Bob is Nan. Lovely to remember them - every one of our beloved cats is remembered for their unique and special ways - they are the most amzing creatures, and my life would be nothing without my cats. The joy they bring is immeasurable x
Hi quiltcat and Buskitten Liz, We adopted Pumpkin from the Animal Shelter when he was a kitten in 1994, at the same time we adopted Polly (Ellie May's kitten when Ellie May belonged to a neighbor of our gallery). He and Polly bonded as little kittens and were so very comical together. He grew up to be a very big cat and a lover of the outdoors, gardening, hunting and D's best buddy. Whenever D would bend down to tie his shoe or whatever, Pumpkin would climb on his back.He was a very affectionate cat and loved water and vegetables...he would steal broccoli from the colander and he especially loved peas! We lost him suddenly when he was only 10 years old to a bad heart.
Brody joined us a few months later. Will be posting Polly and Pumpkin as kittens soon!
Marnie and Shaggy,Scooby and Scout, Pumpkin was an amazing cat with an incredible purr that you could feel through the night...he often rested upsidedown in very comical positions...though he was such a large cat, he had a light touch. We will always miss him. About his name, I chose Pumpkin when we adopted him from the shelter. D thought since he was a stray maybe he had another name from wherever he had come from. So D went through names of the alphabet by starting with the A names and when he got to the B's and said BOB, Pumpkin responded as though to answer his name. He kept doing that and so he was called both Pumpkin and Bob!

He is so like a red tabby we had growing up. His name was Pumpkin too. Wonderful cat, he lived to a pretty old age.
I'll bet you do miss him. I'm still grieving for Voodoo and probably always will.
