Asleep on the Job

My night supervisor, Ellie May seems
to have fallen asleep on the job.

This afternoon Brody fell asleep and it's
difficult to understand how this sweet cat
can suddenly try to attack Polly.
Polly was almost ambushed by him
but she managed to escape,
she flew into the other room and into
her basket before I could even react to what
was happening.

Nan,
I've never owned more than one cat at a time, but even one cat has 'wild' moments once in a while!
They are just beautiful kitties. I've been looking at the prints of your paintings and really admire your gift. You must truly love animals to paint them so sensitively.

I guess that's the reason writers and artists love cats. They are so restful--well maybe not Brody when he's in attack mode. And not Toby but most cats;)

Kitties seem so sweet and peaceful when they're asleep! Thank goodness Polly was able to escape the Brody-ambush.

Judy,
You're right, they all have their wild and crazy moments and it seems like something clicks in Brody's mind when he sees Polly move...maybe suddenly she appears to be a giant mouse in his eyes!
Thanks so much for your comment on my paintings of animals...I do love them and I see something very endearing to me in all creatures and try to express that through my art.

Marnie,
I think that's true, something about cats ...very contemplative and dreamy...just being around them enables the creativity flow. They also can be very comical which helps relieve stress when one becomes too serious!

quiltcat,
Thank goodness Polly was quick enough to react and run...I was sort of screaming for Brody to stop and of course he didn't listen to me!
