Our Resident Red Squirrel

I am always on the lookout for our resident
red squirrel. We have set out leftover apples
collected from our trees in the autumn for her
and she was enjoying this one yesterday.

In a blink of an eye, she scurried up into the
nearby pine tree to take cover.

One of my projects is to do a series of drawing/paintings
of these fascinating little squirrels.

Thanks quiltcat! I have so many photos to work from it will be difficult to choose. I may try to put them together in a book...

I am so glad someone likes squirrels as much as I do. It's a relief to read friendly comments instead of how not to feed squirrels!

Daisy, I do love squirrels and all of the critters... everyone needs to eat to survive....

Judy, I had never really had the chance to see the red squirrel so much as this past year and this winter. They have so many expressions.
We had a family living in the attic of my studio last spring and I saw them all when they appeared on the overhang of the roof...it was so fascinating to watch the babies interact.

Shaggy, Scooby and Scout,
I think my cats, Ellie May, Polly and Brody are thinking like you!
